The mission of the City of Rockwood Parks and Recreation Department is to develop, operate, and maintain parks and recreational facilities, and to administer recreational, cultural, and social programs and events that enhance the quality of life for the citizens and guests of Rockwood.

Rockwood Parks and Recreation operates four specialized sports and recreation facilities for use by both residents and visitors. The Brillo Miller Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art facility consisting of five baseball/softball fields and one soccer field.

Basketball –The community center features a gymnasium where both youth and adult basketball leagues enjoy indoor play. The outdoor swimming pool is open to the public and is also used by the local swim team for competitive swimming, aerobics, swim lessons, and swim parties during certain months of the year. For a more detailed schedule, please contact the center directly. The center also offers community rooms for events such as birthday parties, quilting, and bingo for senior citizens.

Rockwood “Brillo Miller” Sports Complex – The complex features five lighted, well-maintained baseball and softball fields. The city has also recently invested in a lighted soccer field, complete with a newly constructed concession stand and restrooms. This field is utilized by the high school boys’ and girls’ soccer teams. Douglas E. Wilson Community Center – The community center features a gymnasium where both youth and adult basketball leagues enjoy indoor play. The center also offers community rooms for events such as birthday parties, quilting, and bingo for senior citizens. Rockwood Tennis, Pickleball and Basketball Courts – The city’s tennis and ball courts are located on Gateway Avenue, the main thoroughfare through town. All the courts were recently resurfaced, nets and goals were replaced, and pickleball was added. The court area is one of the most visited areas in the city. Young and old alike try out their skills at basketball and tennis. 201 S. Gateway Ave, Rockwood, TN 37854

Rockwood Waterfront Park & Dr. Thomas A. Fuller Boat Dock – The Dr. Thomas A. Fuller Boat Dock is a part of the 52 acre Waterfront Park bordering beautiful Watts Bar Lake, featuring a nice parking lot, boat launching ramp, pavilion, picnic tables, restrooms, and several floating fishing piers and docks, including handicap accessible. A 2015 enhancement grant connected the downtown to the Rockwood Waterfront via a greenway, including sidewalk improvements and additions, bike lanes, pedestrian lighting and a handicap accessible trailhead complete with restrooms at the lake. City leaders support further development of the lake property as an economic driver and additional recreational opportunities for citizens and visitors. 1360 Pumphouse Road, Rockwood, TN 37854

J.B. Olinger Ballfield and Brickyard Springs Park Area – The The J.B. Olinger ballfield is no longer used as a regular ballfield, but is now used as a practice field when the fields in the complex are full. The Brickyard Springs Park is adjacent to the ballfields and features outdoor basketball courts. The city recently added a piece of playground equipment, a new pavilion, grills, and picnic tables. Homecoming park – This park is in the center of downtown and includes a covered stage, park benches, a memorial fountain, Rockwood’s iconic clock, and a railroad caboose that was featured on https://virtualrailfan.com. 

During downtown events, festivals, and Main Street Monday’s the park acts as the center of attraction for activities, including pageants, live music, food trucks and more! Citizens are often seen in the park eating lunch, spending time with children, taking photographs or simply hanging out on a park bench!
