The Utility was established as an enterprise fund under the City of Rockwood and is overseen by a Board of five members appointed by City Council. The original water plant was built in 1958, the first sewer plant in the 1950s, and natural gas has been distributed in the area since 1957. As of 2015, the Utility serves approximately 3,815 water customers, 1,850 sewer customers, and 2,744 gas customers. Our mission is to provide safe, economical utility services through sound management, fiscal responsibility, careful planning, and highly trained staff.
